1. Defend your clan with your life. You may have friendships with cats outside the clan, but ultimately your loyalty must remain to your clan alone.
2. Do not hunt or trespass outside clan territory, nor in another clan's territory should there be one at any time.
3. Elders, queens and kits must be fed first before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick, they may eat while the elders, queens and kits are eating.
4. A cat must only kill as much as he can eat—killing prey for sport is forbidden. The God of this world has given the prey animal its life just as He gave you your life; treat every life with respect.
5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
6. Newly appointed warriors will keep silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having a good, reputable and honorable reputation. A leader should only pick a cat with the best qualities a leader needs to lead well.
8. The deputy may only become leader when the current leader dies.
9. After the death or retirement of a deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before the next moonhigh.
10. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
11. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from another clan or is an outsider.
12. The word of the clan leader is law, unless that leader goes against the warrior code in any way.
13. An honorable warrior does not need to kill in order to win a battle, and will be expected to show compassion and mercy at every opportunity. Any cat that kills when unnecessary and/or when being begged to be spared will be severely beaten and banished permanently. Cold hearts will not be tolerated.
14. A clan cat rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
15. A vigil spanning the entire night must be held for all dead cats, even dead cats from outside the clan.
16. No clan cat shall make fun of or otherwise reject any cat with a deformity or injury of any kind.
17. If a clan leader proves to be a tyrant, the warriors of that clan may fight the leader and banish him or her.
18. A warrior must be willing to sacrifice their life to defend the clan.
19. Mercy must always be exercised wherever and whenever possible, no matter how many times a cat has harmed or betrayed you; kindness will get to them.
20. No cat shall blame or punish the offspring for the crimes of the parent, nor shall any cat blame or punish the parent for the crimes of the offspring.
