The Fall of Stormfall (Windpaw)

Bluehawk padded towards the apprentice den, he and Windpaw had been asked by Nightstar to go in search for Stormfall. "WINDPAW WAKE UP," he yowled his tail slashing impatiently. He was worried Stormfall had been missing since the night before. He hoped he was just over at Ravineclan, after all they were allowed to go and visit their clan mates for Ravineclan and Nightclan where indeed clan mates. But still something was worrying him, something deep inside told him this wasn't the case. Something was wrong and he was going to find out what it was. "Come on Windpaw we don't have all night," he called in once again.

Windpaw snapped his ears up followed but his body. He blinked rapidly shaking the sleep from him self. He looked at bluehawk? He grew alert what was going on? What would frighten this feline so much. He in-took a sharp breath, "Yes of course, sorry Sir. Whats the trouble?" He asked unsure of what was really going on. He padded quickly to Blue's side. Starting to feel the uneasiness in his stomach... this wasn't good.

Bluehawk let out a sigh of relief when his apprentice finally awoke. "I'll tell you on the way follow me." With that command he began running for the entrance to camp. Darting out he turned to see if his apprentice was following him. While he waited he sniffed the area, just as his apprentice came out he caught Stormfall's stale scent. Once he was sure his apprentice was with him he quickly took off again. "Stormfall is missing, he's been missing since before last night." He began to say as they ran following the stale scent of Stormfall. It was very faint but he could just smell it. "Nightstar's worried about Obsidianclan after what happened in Ravineclan and wants us to go out and look for him."

Wind didn't give anymore needless questions he nodded and followed quick on his paws. He pelted after BlueHawk and as the news jumbled into his ears his brain had to make sense of it all. He grew fearful for his clanmate. This could only mean so many things, and few of those were positive. He lengthened his stride picking up pace running neck and neck with BlueHawk. “So what’s the plan?” He panted as he spoke. Tearing through their territory he started to pray to starclan…. Let Storm be alright.

Bluehawk walked around a large bush just barely catching Stormfall's scent. Eventually, the scent left the forest and entered into the meadows. He hissed angrily, the scent would be harder to follow in this open area where the wind was free to whip away all traces of Stormfall's scent. Bluehawk tried to judge what direction Stormfall had been headed. If he had to guess he would've had to say he was headed to the twoleg place but why? Maybe he was just going to check the borders or something? "Well I was hoping we could follow his scent trail all the way but I've lost it. But I think I have a general idea of where he's going. Come on let's run faster I have a bad feeling." Bluehawk began to run faster and faster hoping that what he feared was wrong.

He noted that the open aired area would make it so much harder to track. He new the tom was getting frantic, and grew messy? he started to worry for his clanmate. He paused almost wanting to tell him to take a breath but knew it wasn't his place. "h-" he was cut off as he said they much go faster. They had been rushing this whole time and his body was slowly starting to wear, "Blue we need a scent" he panted.

Bluehawk heard Windpaw's gasping words about needing a scent. he sighed and slowed down. "Your right we do." As he came to a complete stop he decided to give the apprentice some time to catch his breath. "Stay here and catch your breath I'm going to go search for a scent I'll call you when I find one." With that he went in search of a scent

He watched with a sorry expression. BlueHawk was looking more than frantic, desperation laced his features. Wind felt dread, watching as the male refused to stop if he kept this up he would be little help to anyone. Wind obeyed but only for a few moments. Catching his breath he decided to search for a scent. He searched high and low but the air flow made it near impossible to track. He turned and called out to his comrade. "BlueHawk! Maybe we should loop back we might find something stronger" he offered with wide eyes. He knew the seriousness of this situation but felt rather powerless.

Bluehawks tail lashed from side to side in agitation. After hearing his apprentice he stopped and took in a deep breath and sighed. Wait? What was that? He took a cautious step forward and sniffed a bush. It was faint but it was there. "I found his scent Windpaw." He yowled over his shoulder. He smiled, "It's faint but I can tell which way it's going. This time we'll take our time and make sure we don't loose it. That was my mistake, one I don't plan to repeat." With a flick of his tail to tell the apprentice to follow him he turned and at a fast walk began to follow the scent. Before he ran blindly now he was moving more slowly, which would improve his chances. Or so he hoped.

He sent a small pray're of thanks to starclan. Maybe they were watching over us after all. "Yes, of course" he trailed behind BlueHawk with a steady keen eye and nose working over time. After a while of travling like such he dared ask, "What do you think happened?"
