A Rather Boring Night [open]

The crisp evening air ruffled a golden she-cats pelt. The gentle breeze awoke her from a rather pleasant dream, in which she had dreamed about catching a squirrel. But, now she was wide awake, and she clearly wasn't going back to sleep. Rather begrudgingly, the fluffy she-cat stretched out each limb. With a grunt, Puddleheart sat up and quickly groomed herself. 

No matter how she felt, she had to remain happy. Happiness was key to a good day. Puddleheart yawned as she stood, her mouth opening to reveal a pink tongue and pointy teeth. She slowly started out of the den, and the moon was so bright that night she almost has to squint to see. Luckily, the darkness night brought made up for the brightness, and cancelled it out . The she-cat looked around, trying to find something to do, or someone to make happy. 

Puddleheart sighed in defeat, but stepped closer to the exit of the camp. "Does any one wish to go hunting with me?"

I thought I'd let you know

That these things take forever, I especially am slow,for I've been hurt and betrayed. It takes time to heal, but I know I need you to help me climb from this hole.

Snowkit was four moons old now she had completely forgotten about the time from before she joined Nightclan. Even though she had been a moon old when her father had dumped her on Nightclan territory half dead she had completely forgotten about it. As far as she knew she was born to Nightclan and her parents were Rissenstorm and Nightsnow.



As the moons light trickled into the medicine cat's den it tickled Snowkit's nose making her sneeze. She blinked open her eyes and opened her maw in a yawn showing her tiny needle sharp fangs. She looked back to see if her mom was awake yet but could still see her sleeping form so she decided to get her something to eat. As she stepped out of her warm den she shivered as she stepped into the cold air. Though it was warmer than usual, she wondered what that meant. She could tell the snow was starting to melt which made her happy she couldn't wait until the cold was gone. But what would the weather be like once Leaf-bare was done. She had heard that the trees filled with green leaves. She couldn't remember ever seeing anything green unless it was a cat's eyes.



Shaking her head Snowkit turned to dart over to the freshkill pile but saw Puddleheart. She bit her lip, she knew who it was but she had never talked with her before. She took a deep breath and slowly padded to the freshkill pile. "Good night Puddleheart."

Puddleheart flicked an ear as she heard a small voice behind her. She turned around slowly, not wanting to scare the tiny cat. She let out a pleasant 'oh' of surprise as she realized who it was. "Why hello there Snowkit! Good night to you as well! You look very beautiful tonight, your snowy white pelt really shines." she purred, glad to have already have someone to talk to and compliment.

Puddleheart sighed slightly when she realized eating would have to wait for later. She never dared to eat until she had caught something for the elderly, queens, or young ones. But, because Snowkit was still a kitten, she couldn't go out of the camp yet. Which meant they would have to play something fun. "Well, would you like to play something with me? I am rather bored, and I bet we could play something fun!" she meowed enthusiastically

Snowkit continued towards the freshkill pile and gave it a sniff. She wrinkled her nose everything here was from last night and a bit stale. She wanted something fresh for her and her mom. She would have to wait for the dusk patrol to return. Her right ear twitched as she heard the comments. Had the cat not seen the left side of her face? Had she not taken a good look at her? She was covered in scars the worst on her left side of her face where she had been blinded on that side. She couldn't remember what had happened she had been too young to remember. She turned so the she-cat could see her left side of her face. "You really think so" Maybe she had seen it and still meant it? She didn't think anyone would ever call her pretty or beautiful. A tear glistened in her good eye, but she quickly blinked it away before Puddleheart or anyone else could see it.



A game? A smile spread across her face, "I would love to play a game. What should we play?" Her tail lashed excitedly this would help time go by as she waited for the dusk patrol to return with some freshkill. Maybe they could play tag, or wrestle or maybe moss ball? There were so many fun games they could play.

Puddleheart flicked her tail-tip when the she-kit asked her if she truly meant it. She smiled at the tiny kit, and didn't even flinch at the sight of her scars. "I think you are very beautiful, even with your scars. I mean, scars define who we are, and what we can be. I have a scar too, see?" she meowed, and stretched out a limb so the kit could see the long jagged scar that trailed up her leg. The scar had been caused by a fox when she and Wildwind had been running away to Nightclan. The memory still sent shivers down her spine.

Puddleheart was glad to be relived of the terrible memory as the small kitten asked her a question. She flexed her claws in and out of the grass, thinking hard. "Well, I think a fun game is moss ball, or the rogues are invading. But, you are the kitten here, so what do you want to play?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. Perhaps the tiny kitten would become her friend. What a strange thing that would be.

Snowkit stood there with her mouth open, she really meant it. Tears welled up in her throat and she had to struggle to swallow the lump. Part of wanted to believe her, that was her heart which was still healing from the attack she couldn't remember. But her head told her she was telling the truth. She bowed her head and gave a small smile, "thank you." Snowkit shook her head. "Ok let's play." She forced a smile on her face and looked around camp.

When Puddleheart suggested a couple games an idea came to Snowkit. "I have an idea instead of rogues invading let's play Obsidianclan invading." She had heard many things over the past few moons about the evil clan. "You're the Obsidanclan cat Foxshade and I'm Rissenstorm trying to defend the camp." She crouched in attack position and hissed before yowling "Obsidianclan attacking," then charged Puddleheart and leaped on her back and battered at her back with her claws sheathed so as not to hurt her. "Dig your claws in and bite her neck Snowkit, that's how you fight little one," the voice whispered in her ear. 

Ishararain (Maybe Rissenstorm hears her cry and actually thinks their attacking?)

Notes: Snowkit has a connection with the dark forest this is her first experience with it. The one whispering in her ear is a dark forest cat.

Puddleheart smiled at the small kitten. Sometimes it was good to compliment others, especially the ones who needed it most. Snowkit didn't have a lot of self confidence, and Puddleheart was going to try her best to change that, no matter how hard. She nodded in agreement to herself before looking down at the she-kit.

"Ok! I would love to play Obsidianclan's invading. Foxshade.. that's a different name!" she meowed playfully. The little kitten jumped on her with surprising speed, and Puddleheart staggered back in surprise. The warrior fluffed out her fur and lumbered around, shaking her body back and forth as she tried to throw the tiny kitten off. "Grrrr.. I'm a terrible Obsidianclan cat who eats naughty kittens for breakfast!" she growled, and flicked her ear as she heard a small voice. She couldn't make out what it said, and shook her head harder.

This was fun! "How are you going to stop me Rissenstorm? I am the big and mighty Foxshade!" she yowled, and started jumping up and down. How did one rid themselves of a kitten?

Snowkit's eyes shined excitedly if only her dad Rissenstorm could see her now. When Puddleheart said Foxshade was a strange name she was surprised she didn't know who he was. Everyone in the camp knew who he was. "Don't you know? Foxshade is a murderer he's the deputy of Obsidianclan and I heard he killed the mate of a who was pregnant with kits." It was common knowledge she thought. She had heard other warriors talking about him.

She squealed when she began to play and roared. "Oh yeah, well I'm the brave Rissenstorm who protects kits from cats like you." When she began to shake her body and head trying to get her off. She just dug her claws in and held on tight still being sure not to hurt Puddleheart but digging them into the fur enough to cling on.

"How will I stop you, you ask Foxshade? While I'll shred you to pieces and chase you so far away you'll never dare mess with my clan again." Snowkit was trying really hard not to laugh for she was having so much fun. But when she jumped in the air she let out a squeak of fright. She nipped Foxshade's neck, "I got you now you stinking piece of Fox dung."

Puddleheart let out an oh of acknowledgment. She narrowed her eyes as she thought of the rude tom. She was slightly saddened to find kittens knew of his unforgettable crimes. "Yes, of course I know who he is! I just think his name is a weird one." she explained, still trying to throw the kitten off.

She pretended to be scared as Snowkit started to tell how she would defeat her. "Never would you ever defeat me Rissenstorm!" she hissed, bucking up and down. She felt the tiny kittens claws in her pelt, but she didn't mind. After all, her pelt was so long it didn't bother her. Puddleheart was surprised by the amount of violence in Snowkits comeback. Who knew a mere kitten would know how to hurt others in such detail.

The she-cat gasped as she felt the smallest nip on her neck. "Oh no! I have been bit! I can feel myself fading!" she yowled dramatically. She swayed from one side to the other, pretending like she didn't know which way to fall. Suddenly, she fell onto her side with a dramatic sigh. "You have deceived me again, Rissenstorm." She yowled.

Puddleheart closed her eyes and stuck out tongue like a true dead cat. "I have died!" she pronounced.

Oh that's what she meant ok that made more since. "Oh ok, yea your right it is a strange name." She giggled softly at that. Snowkit was having so much fun if only her dad was here to see her. He had taught her a few battle moves and she had remembered them well. Or at least she thought she did.

Foxshade continued to buck around but Rissenstorm would not give up. When she bit him he began to cry out. She smiled excitedly she had defeated to devious Foxshade. She jumped off of his back right before he fell to the ground. She tumbled head over heels as she landed but Snowkit quickly got back to her paws. "I warned you Foxshade to never trespass into Nightclan ever again. You should have listened to me."

Snowkit began to laugh as she declared she had died and stuck her tongue out. She approached her and poked her. "Good game Puddleheart."

Puddleheart laid still on the ground, her mouth twitching. It was tempting to laugh, but she knew this was a serious game, with a serious demeanor. But perhaps she could allow a small smile. Her lips turned up in a huge smile, and she doubled over with laughter. The little kitten had poked her! What a strange world they lived in.

"Ah yes, it was a fantastic game!" she purred, and she shook out her pelt as she stood. Grass and dirt clung to it stubborn, so she sighed and drew a paw over the matted parts. The problem with having long hair was that it was constantly getting dirty. Puddleheart didn't have time to worry about her appearance 24/7! She looked back, and remembered Snowkit was there.

Puddleheart beamed at the kitten, and started hopping on her toes. "What do you want to play next? If you want to play. I am all good if you don't want to play, you are a kitten after-all, and you must get tired faster then me." Puddleheart mused.

He'd been out that night with the dusk patrol, he was coming back now with a kill to add to the pile, it was meager, just a few mice, and a few shrews, but it was something. As he stepped into Camp he heard Snowkit yowl and he was instantly on alert and attack mode. ObsidianClan attacking?!  Now?!  The ragged, white pointed, tabby marked, dark chocolate brown old tomcat sprang to action, paws pounding the ground as he charged toward where Snowkit's voice I come from. As Rissenstorm rounded the turn he skidded to a halt as he saw Snowkit's snowy pelt and the pale golden coat of another of their Clan, Puddleheart. Upon seeing it was only Snowkit and Puddleheart he relaxed a little, his long silky coat settling back over his frame as the pair finished their game. Rissenstorm couldn't help but beam as pride in Snowkit's teachings and remembering all she had learned were displayed before him. "Snowkit child, you scared me. When you yowled I thought it was real. You'll have to be careful of that shout." Rissenstorm told her as the scarred tom moved toward the kitten. "Good night Puddleheart." Rissenstorm said as he moved to join the she-cat and the she-kit with a smile and a dip of his head for both of them. She really was his daughter if just her shout in a game had sent him into protection and attack mode. Now knowing what it really was Rissenstorm relaxed more and a soft purr stirred in his frame as he gazed at both females waiting. "Speaking" Listening Notes: Storm @firefly Hehehehehehe, Awww.
