Name:
Gender: Female
Age: 38 Moons
Rank: Warrior
Shadow Powers: Moderate (3)
Clan: NightClan
Appearance: A well-built she cat, with well defined muscles from a hard warrior life she has lead. She is slightly below average height for a cat her age but prefers her compact, if a bit bony, frame. Her fur is short and rather thin, making her more of a green leaf kind of cat. Her pelt is base colour of tan with a thick, marble tabby design. She has distinctive tan marks around her eyes and muzzle. She inherited her mother's yellow eyes. She has several scars littering her body, like any good warrior; most notably the claw marks on her neck.
Brief Appearance: Black tabby she cat with yellow eyes.
Personality:
Serene
Moonpath has a calming aura about her that can put others at ease. Her voice is smooth and almost lyrical; a kind of lullaby that would put kits to sleep. She has a knack for knowing just what to say to calm someone down and make them feel confident in themselves. She mostly uses this quality to keep the peace within the clan.
Protective
For those that Moonpath counts as her precious ones, like her leader Nightstar and her other NightClan mates, she is very protective of them and will not tolerate anyone speaking ill of them. She will protect them with words or claws, either way, they will be sharp and painful. You do not want to get on this cat's bad side.
Mysterious
Growing up in the clan life, and experiencing all kinds of terrible things, Moonpath is very tight-lipped about her past. She is very vague when she speaks and always sounds like she is choosing every word very carefully. She is very secretive and has an inherent distrust of everyone. She is a very difficult nut to crack, added to an uncanny talent for diverting attention away from herself, she is a very difficult cat to befriend.
Graceful
Part of her mysterious persona, is the poise and elegance she carries herself. She is distinctly different from her loner-born clanmates and it shows. She is completely silent when she walks and has a bad habit of sneaking up on others. She can walk through any land without leaving so much as a trace of herself behind. It's is almost as if she is walking on air all the time and makes any move she makes look graceful.
History:
Black-kit was born to her mother Cloverpool and next to her brothers Sandkit and Firekit. She had an uneventful kithood. She spent her days play fighting with her brothers, causing mischief with the elders and longingly staring at the apprentice den. She showed an early perceptiveness as she noticed her brothers becoming closer, leaving her feeling rather left out. Black-kit quickly became jealous of their relationship and turned slightly hostile towards them. She took to giving them the cold shoulder despite her mother's scolding. She found herself becoming attached to a tom named Darkshade who's mate was also spending time in the nursery before giving birth. Darkshade understood Black-kit's jealousy and would take the she kit out on tours around ObsidianClan territory.
Finally she was given the name Blackpaw and Darkshade as her mentor. The two were delighted with the arrangement and threw themselves into training enthusiastically. Darkshade drove the warrior code into Blackpaw's head endlessly, giving her a great respect for the code and took its words to heart. But over time, her belief in the warrior code wavered. First it started with small things, like watching her fellow apprentices making friends with cats in other clans. She didn't think much about it, but when her brother Sandpaw didn't attack his friend in RavineClan during a border skirmish. Blackpaw confronted her brother about the incident and he shrugged it off, claiming it didn't matter. It was just a one time thing. Then one day during a particularly harsh leafbare, Darkshade encouraged Blackpaw to trespass over the clan boarder to hunt in RavineClan territory. He claimed it was for the good of the clan and they were just bending the rules slightly. It wouldn't happen again.
The incidents continued to build. Blackpaw saw one of her clanmates kill a RavineClan cat in cold blood. Even after the cat surrendered. Then several days later the medicine cat gave up on a sick kit because they didn't want to waste herbs on a hopeless case. Blackpaw was disgusted with the way her clanmates treated the warrior code. None of them had an honor.
Blackpaw promised this would change the day she gained her warrior name, Blacksun. She quickly gained her own apprentice in the form of Bluepaw. She instilled a deep respect for the warrior code in her apprentice and silently promised herself she wouldn't end up a poor mentor like Darkshade. Things were going smoothly until one fateful day. Blacksun was on border patrol with her apprentice, her brothers, Sandstream and Firefang, and several other ObsidianClan cats. The others spotted a RavineClan she cat on the edge of their territory struggling to give birth. The ObsidianClan cats laughed at her pained screams and jokingly offered to cut the kits out of her stomach with their claws. Blacksun snapped. She turned on her clanmates and told them to leave or she was going to claw their ears off. Of course they took this as a threat and a fight broke out. Eventually Blacksun chased off her clanmates with the help of a heavily injured Bluepaw. Blacksun quickly went to the struggling Queen's side and helped her through the difficult birth. Scared of the repercussions of her actions, Blacksun sent Bluepaw with the Queen back to RavineClan while she returned to camp to confront the leader.
By the time Blacksun returned to camp, the damage was already done. Her clanmates had branded her a traitor to the clan and convinced the leader that she was insane. The leader glared down at Blacksun as he cast her out of the clan for her actions. She tried to protest, to get the story straight but nothing she said could change their minds. Blacksun retreated out of ObsidianClan territory and into loner lands. For days she wandered listlessly. Then her life changed completely.
A cat visited her in her dreams, Bastet, he called himself and told Blacksun that she had a chance to find a real clan to call home. "Let the moon light your path, young warrior." He said in her ethereal voice before fading. Blacksun woke up to a full moon shining brightly above her head. Following Bastet's words, she raced across the longer lands towards the moon and ran into a black she cat named Night. They wandered, gathering cats to their cause before Night cautiously offered up the idea of creating their own clan. Blacksun whole heartedly voted Night as their leader. Together, the newly named NightClan started searching in earnest for a place to call home. Night told them of her dream of Bastet and his warrior code that made Blacksun's chest burn with yearning. Eventually, NightClan found the Great Rock and declared it their home. Along with the rest of the clan, Blacksun pressed her nose to the Great Stone and was once more faced with Bastet. He greeted her kindly and gave her a new name, Moonpath.
